Goat cheese, cow cheese, buffalo cheese, cheese from the yak, and you now there is also have donkey cheese. This cheese costs a lot of money – a whopping €1000 per kilo and is therefore not only the most expensive cheese in the Netherlands, but of the entire world! This new high-quality cheese appears to have extraordinary health benefits because it contains a lot of protein, calcium and omega-3 fatty acids. There is also little fat in this cheese and it contains more than 60 times as much vitamin C than regular cow’s milk.
It will be a bit difficult for you to get donkey cheese because there is only one farm that produces this cheese – the Zasavica nature reserve in Serbia is where manager Slobodan Simic makes the cheese from the milks of 300 donkeys, but only 20 produce of them will produce donkey milk at any given time. Talk about a rarity … So rare that Novak Djokovic has bought up the annual stock of the whole world!
